At least 30 children report minor injuries after school bus overturns in Kentucky
At least 30 children reported minor injuries after a school bus overturned in Bullitt County, Kentucky, according to officials.
The crash happened Monday at Old Boston and Wilson Creek roads near Lebanon Junction, according to the Lebanon Junction Fire Department.
Bullitt County Judge-Executive Jerry Summers said at least 30 children aboard the bus indicated they had been injured, WDRB reported. The injuries included cuts and bruises. Some children were taken to the hospital “just to be checked out.”
Five Bullitt County ambulances responded to the scene, along with emergency crews from neighboring Jefferson and Nelson counties. A staging area was set up for parents to reunite with their children at the crash site.
“First responders and law enforcement are on scene and working quickly to transport those in need of care,” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said in a statement. “We will share more information as available, but for now I’m asking everyone to join me in praying for all those affected.”
