85-year-old man charged with murder of 81-year-old wife at Georgia home

An 85-year-old man has been charged with murder after his 81-year-old wife was found dead at their home in Forsyth County, Georgia, north of Atlanta, authorities say.

Deputies were called to the home on Collins Point Road at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday after a 911 caller reported a domestic violence incident, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found Deborah Field, 81, suffering from multiple injuries and immediately began providing medical aid. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her husband, Thomas Elliott Field, 85, was detained at the home and later charged with aggravated assault and felony murder. He is being held at the Forsyth County Jail.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit and crime scene investigators responded to the home. Authorities said they believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
