Three teenagers have been shot in Lawrence, Massachusetts, according to local reports. The shooting happened near several schools.

The shooting took place on Monday near the intersection of Crawford and Exeter streets in Lawrence, a city about 30 miles north of Boston. The scene is next to the Lt. Colonel Edward J. Higgins Swimming Pool and close to South Lawrence East Elementary School and Lawrence High School.

WHDH, citing sources, reported that three teens were shot in the incident. The circumstances of the shooting and the extent of the teens’ injuries have not been released.

Lawrence police asked people to avoid the area because of a large police presence. Officers from the Massachusetts State Police were also at the scene, WCVB reported.

Police have not released information about arrests or possible suspects.
