1 killed, 3 injured in shooting near Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta

One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting at an apartment complex near Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, according to police.

The shooting was reported at about 3:01 p.m. Tuesday at the complex at 55 Maple Street NW, about a block from the stadium and near Clark Atlanta University.

Officers found three adult men with gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two were taken by ambulance to a hospital. Both were alert and conscious.

A fourth man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was also alert and conscious.

Police did not announce any arrests or disclose what led to the shooting. Investigators with the department’s Homicide Unit responded to the apartment complex and were working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
