House Dems release Epstein birthday letter allegedly signed by Trump amid files dump

House Democrats say they’ve obtained a copy of a birthday book created for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday that includes a letter allegedly signed by President Donald Trump. The disclosure comes amid a Monday night dump of Epstein-related files by the House Oversight Committee.
The birthday book was turned over to the House Oversight Committee by lawyers representing Epstein’s estate. The committee also published an alleged birthday message from former President Bill Clinton.
The birthday album
The committee says the birthday album — compiled in 2003 by a bookbinder — contained greetings, poems, and photos from Epstein’s circle of friends and acquaintances. Among them, Democrats point to a letter typed and framed by a sexually explicit sketch with what appears to be Trump’s signature underneath.
The note reads in part, “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
Committee Democrats also shared the contents on social media, insisting the letter is evidence that Trump lied when he previously claimed the document didn’t exist.
“We got the Epstein note Trump says doesn’t exist,” Rep. Robert Garcia, the committee’s Democratic ranking member, said on X. “Time to end this White House cover-up.”
Trump, White House refute claims
Trump has rejected the committee’s claims, saying the letter and drawing are fabricated. His legal team has already filed a multibillion-dollar defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, which first reported on the alleged letter earlier this summer.
White House aides also pushed back, pointing to what they called obvious differences between the handwriting and Trump’s actual signature.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the publication of the so-called birthday card proof that the story is false.
“As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” Leavitt wrote on X. “President Trump’s legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation.”
Late Epstein files release
The release of the alleged birthday card — with its authenticity being part of an ongoing debate — comes as pressure mounts in Congress, from both parties, to make public the so-called “Epstein files.”
On Monday night, the House Oversight Committee released another tranche of Epstein-related files, including a message from former President Bill Clinton in the late convicted pedophile’s infamous “birthday book.” The surprise document dump, issued by the GOP-led panel, came hours after Epstein’s estate complied with a congressional subpoena to turn over materials.
The Justice Department, however, has maintained that no client list exists and that no additional records will be released — a stance that has drawn frustration from both Trump’s allies and critics.
