Fox News parts ways with Maria Bartiromo after 12 years
Fox News Media has parted ways with Maria Bartiromo after more than 12 years, the company announced Thursday. Her departure ends a tenure in which she hosted programs on both Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel.
Fox said Bartiromo was no longer with the company effective Thursday, when the final episode of Mornings with Maria aired on Fox Business. The company did not give a reason for the decision.
“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” the company said in a statement.
The weekday program, which aired from 6 to 9 a.m. ET, will be replaced by Mornings with FOX Business beginning Friday, with rotating anchors. Her weekly program, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, will be renamed FBN’s Wall Street and will be hosted by Cheryl Casone this week before rotating anchors take over.
Bartiromo’s Sunday morning program on Fox News Channel, Sunday Morning Futures, will be hosted by former Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz this week. Fox said a permanent host will be announced later.
Bartiromo joined Fox News in 2014 after two decades at CNBC, where she became one of the country’s best-known business television anchors. She hosted Closing Bell and was the first journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on a daily basis.
Her work at Fox later drew scrutiny over her on-air coverage of false claims that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen.
Smartmatic alleged in a 2025 lawsuit against Fox News that Bartiromo spread false election-fraud claims, an allegation she has strongly denied, according to the Associated Press. Fox settled a separate defamation case brought by Dominion Voting Systems in 2023.
