The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is offering a reward of up to $20,000 to identify a man suspected of throwing a Molotov cocktail-style device at a federal immigration building in Atlanta. The device caused minor damage, and no injuries were reported.

The attempted arson happened at approximately 8:14 p.m. on Tuesday at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) building at 180 Ted Turner Drive in downtown Atlanta, according to a notice released by the FBI’s Atlanta Field Office on Wednesday.

In an earlier statement, the FBI said the device was thrown at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building. The building also houses Atlanta’s immigration court.

FBI agents are reviewing evidence and following leads. The $20,000 reward is for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person responsible.

Federal agents described the suspect as a man with a slender to athletic build, a medium to dark complexion, and dark, textured hair that is fuller on top with tapered sides. He wore thin, dark-framed glasses and had light facial stubble along his jaw and upper lip.

Images released of the suspect show him wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt, tan pants and dark shoes. A white cord hangs from his right ear down his neck.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts can contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or 1-800-225-5324, or their local FBI office.
