Atlanta police have released body camera footage of officers rescuing two children who were kidnapped by their babysitter over the weekend, according to officials.

The incident began at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when officers were called to 356 James P. Brawley St. NW for a report of two missing children, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Their mother said the children had been missing since about 10 p.m. Saturday.

The mother told police that she had asked an acquaintance, Lakesha Brown, to watch the children while she went out to dinner at about 6 p.m. Saturday. When she returned home, she was unable to reach Brown despite repeated attempts.

During the investigation, officers identified a possible location at 2001 Sylvan Road SW. When they arrived, officers heard a child crying inside a trailer.

Officers forced their way into the trailer and found both children inside with Brown. The children were reunited with their mother in good health.

The footage released by the Atlanta Police Department shows the officers’ response at the trailer. Brown, 42, was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping.
