Three people have been killed and two others were injured in a shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, according to local media. The suspected shooter was found dead near the scene.

The shooting was reported at around 3 p.m. on Saturday at the In-N-Out on Blue Lakes Boulevard North, in a busy commercial area near the Twin Falls Visitor Center.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed that the shooting resulted in multiple fatalities and that several people are being treated at a local hospital. He said the exact number could not yet be released because authorities were still notifying the victims’ families.

KTVB, citing law enforcement sources, reported that three people were killed and two others were injured. The condition of those injured was not immediately released.

The Twin Falls Police Department initially described the shooting as an active shooter incident. Officers from the police department, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police and several other agencies responded.

“Today has been a very hard day here in Twin Falls. A tragic day,” Chief Hicks said. “It was a very chaotic scene.”

The suspected shooter was found dead near the restaurant, according to Hicks. Police are working to identify him and determine a possible motive.

Hundreds of people were in or around the restaurant when the shooting occurred and are being interviewed by investigators.

Footage from the scene showed one man carrying what appeared to be a rifle, while another video showed a second man firing a pistol. Police have not explained the role of either man or said whether more than one person opened fire.

Witness video showed the man with the rifle firing at a parked Tesla, although it was unclear whether anyone was inside. Separate footage showed him outside the In-N-Out as multiple shots rang out and crowds fled the area.

The FBI and the ATF are assisting local and state authorities with the investigation.
