Seven people were injured when a vehicle crashed into an occupied church in San Francisco, according to officials. Three of the victims were taken to a hospital.

The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. local time on Sunday when emergency crews responded to 551 Nevada Street, located between Ogden and Crescent Avenues in the Bernal Heights neighborhood, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived to find a vehicle inside the structure and evacuated the building as a precaution. The building was identified the Good Hope Baptist Church.

Seven patients were evaluated at the scene for what appeared to be minor injuries, according to the fire department. Three of them were transported to a hospital for further treatment, while the others were released at the scene.

The crash appears to be an “unintentional incident” as the driver of the car is associated with the address, fire officials said.

Crews evacuated the structure and requested the Department of Building and Inspection to assess the damage. The Department of Building and Inspection determined the building was safe and returned the structure to the owner.
