Russell Brand has been charged with additional sexual offenses involving two more women, bringing the total number of alleged victims in the case to six, according to British prosecutors.

The new charges were authorized Tuesday by the Crown Prosecution Service following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, which said detectives began examining the allegations in September 2023 after reporting by Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times.

Russell Brand, 50, of Oxfordshire, was charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault related to two additional women, police said. The charges are in addition to those filed in April 2025 involving four women.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the earlier charges include two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault. The alleged offenses span from 1999 to 2005 and involve incidents reported in Bournemouth and multiple locations in the Westminster area of London.

Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi, who is leading the investigation, said the women who have come forward “continue to receive support from specially trained officers” and that the investigation remains ongoing. He asked anyone with information to contact police.

Brand is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 20, 2026, in relation to the two new charges. A trial for the original five charges is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court on June 16, 2026.

Brand, a comedian, actor, author, and online commentator, has previously denied allegations of sexual assault and rape, describing past claims as false and asserting that all of his relationships were consensual.

After the Metropolitan Police announced the additional charges, Brand posted several videos online. In one video, he said: “I pray Lord, anyone that I’ve harmed or hurt in my years of mindlessness and sin would be healed, Lord. And I pray, Lord, for the absolute truth of who I am to be abundantly revealed.”
