Media Miss by the right: White House press secretary calls Democrats ‘terrorists’ and ‘criminals’
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is facing criticism for comments she made in a Fox News interview about Democrats. It comes as many people on both sides of the political aisle are speaking out against the use of extremist political rhetoric in the wake of recent assassinations and attempted assassinations against both Democratic and Republican figures.
“The Democrat Party’s main constituency are made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens and violent criminals,” Leavitt said.
Leavitt’s comments came after a question about Democratic New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, who refused to say whether he believes Hamas should disarm in Gaza.
Media Miss by the left: DHS to charge immigrants $1,000 fee for humanitarian parole
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced a new $1,000 fee for immigrants who are approved for humanitarian parole. According to a DHS statement, the goal of the fee is to “institute accountability and prevent rampant fraud of the parole system,” which they say was an issue during the Biden administration.
The fee will be collected only after a person’s request for parole is approved, not upon filing.
Fees will be collected by Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Citizenship and Immigration Services.
