Guy Moon, composer for Johnny Bravo, Fairly OddParents and others, dies at 63
Guy Moon, a composer whose work included music for animated television series such as Johnny Bravo, The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, and others, has died at the age of 63 after a traffic collision, according to a statement posted by his family.
“We are overcome with grief to announce the passing of our beloved patriarch, Guy Moon,” the family said in the statement on his Facebook account. “He was killed on Thursday morning in a traffic collision.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed Moon died on Thursday, with traumatic injuries being listed as the cause of his death. The manner was death was ruled an accident.
Moon was born and raised in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and went on to compose and write music for numerous animated television shows, including Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, The Fairly OddParents, and Danny Phantom.
Moon received four Primetime Emmy nominations and won an Annie Award for his work on The Fairly OddParents, according to IMDb.
“We are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life,” his family said. “He has left an unmistakable legacy, and will be profoundly missed by us, his family, and countless others whose lives he impacted.”
The family said they are tentatively planning to celebrate Moon’s life on his birthday, Feb. 7, in the Los Angeles area, with another service to be held later in his hometown of Fort Atkinson.
