Former President Joe Biden diagnosed with prostate cancer

Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, the Associated Press reported Sunday, May 18.
On Tuesday, May 13, Biden visited doctors following urinary symptoms. A prostate nodule was discovered.
The detection of nodules in the prostate generally requires further examination by a urologist to rule out prostate cancer. These types of abnormal growths can be caused by cancer or less serious conditions, including inflammation or an enlarged prostate.
His office reported the cancer diagnosis on Friday. The statement added that cancer cells have spread to his bones.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” his office said. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”
