Live camera footage of a bald eagle nest in Southern California has gone viral this week as a pair of celebrity bald eagles builds their family.

How can I join eaglet watch 2025?

The California nonprofit Friends of Big Bear Valley has shared two 24/7 live streams of a bald eagle nest in the San Bernardino Mountains.

When did these eagles become famous?

The nest is home to Jackie and Shadow. The pair gained worldwide popularity in 2023 when the camera captured them with two eggs.

However, those eggs failed to hatch at the time.

But now, three years later, Jackie and Shadow have two new babies to care for, with a third on the way.

The first eaglet hatched Monday, March 3, and the second on Tuesday afternoon, March 4.

What’s the big deal?

According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, bald eagles used to be considered endangered but have not been since 2007. They do, however, remain a protected species, and it is against the law to harm, kill or sell bald eagles, their nests or eggs.
