Hundreds take to the streets of Lima, Peru celebrating Clown Day: Slideshow

The Peruvian clown parade takes place every May 25 to celebrate the profession. Some 200,000 work as clowns in Peru. Participants seek official recognition of the day by parliament. Official recognition would give clowns access to government funds and the possibility of establishing clowning schools.
