Inspired by recent headlines, this week’s weapon of the week is the Orion-H10 anti-drone gun from TRD Singapore. If you watched coverage of the pope’s funeral, you probably saw people with equipment that looked like a high-tech gun.
What is an anti-drone gun?
The Orion-H10 is the most advanced drone jammer gun on the market, operating on 10 different frequency bands. This feature allows it to disrupt the connection between a drone and its remote control, causing the drone to land, hover, or return home.
“It doesn’t disrupt any events, cause any damage, or risk any lives,” Denise Ong, a corporate specialist at TRD Singapore, said.
Ong explained that the Orion-H10 is designed to handle a wide range of drones.
“We’ve iterated to ensure this drone gun covers all kinds of drones, including DJI, commercial, DIY, FPV, and military-grade drones,” she said.
Operating on multiple frequencies is essential because drones operate on various frequencies.
“A lot of competitors focus on certain aspects of drones,” Ong said. “But our gun has been in many countries, so we know there are various types of drones. We want our gun to apply to any situation, whether civilian disruptions or war-based scenarios.”
Weighing about seven kilograms, the Orion-H10 is sturdy yet manageable. This allows some troops to be able to carry it with one hand, demonstrating its practicality in the field. The rifle’s design allows users to quickly neutralize drones, making it an essential tool for security forces.
“Some Marines have carried it with one hand,” Ong said. “You see a drone, shoot it, take it down, and you’re good to go.”
TRD Singapore’s reach extends to over 35 countries, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Canada. “Canadian troops in Latvia are currently using the Orion-H10,” Ong mentioned, showcasing its global impact.
What’s next for TRD?
Looking ahead, TRD Singapore is committed to evolving with drone technology.
As drones develop anti-jamming modules and other advancements, TRD Singapore aims to stay ahead with new features like GPS spoofing. The company is focused on creating layered defenses to address various threats.

“We’re definitely developing it to make sure it’s not just one kind of method we’re relying on,” Ong said. “We’re having a layered defense for any kind of situation.”
