All 9 victims identified in Florida business jet crash
All nine victims of the business jet crash near West Palm Beach, Florida, have been identified. They included a family of four, the woman who cared for their two young children, another couple and two pilots.
The victims were identified Monday following Sunday’s crash on South Military Trail near Cresthaven. The Learjet 60 went down at about 12:50 p.m. while flying from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas, killing everyone aboard.
Adam Robinson and Helen Sharp were killed along with their two children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, and the children’s caregiver, Anita Maria Cetina. The other two passengers were Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.
“Adam and Helen were devoted parents, and Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, were the light of their lives,” the families said. “Their warmth, generosity and gift for making people feel welcome touched so many lives. Their loss will be felt deeply by all those who loved them and who they loved in return.”
The statement described Reed and Fehr as full of joy and adventure, remembering their devotion to one another and those around them.
“They loved their people fiercely, fully and without hesitation. From the moment they met, they were all in on each other and the life they were building,” the families said. “They are deeply loved, and we will miss them endlessly.”
The statement also paid tribute to Cetina, who cared for Emma and Charlie. “She was truly part of the family. She showed us a legacy of unconditional love and devotion.”
The flight crew members were identified as pilot Jeff Gregory, 55, and co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha, 20.
“Our hearts are also with the families of the pilots, who are grieving alongside us,” the families said.
The jet crashed near the entrance to a mobile home park and a strip mall parking lot at 3001 South Military Trail. Dashcam footage showed it descending steeply toward the road before disintegrating on impact and leaving a crater.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.
