Man shot and killed after opening fire inside Talbert House in Cincinnati

A man was shot and killed by Cincinnati police Friday night after officers found him firing shots inside the Talbert House in Cincinnati.

Police were called to the building around 7 p.m. and later made entry, where officers found the suspect actively firing rounds inside, according to police.

Officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who was killed at the scene. No officers were injured, and police said there were no other victims inside the building.

The suspect was an adult man, but police have not released his identity. It was not immediately clear why he went to the Talbert House or what led to the shooting.

The Talbert House provides housing and behavioral health services to people in need.

Central Parkway was closed between Hopple Street and the Western Hills Viaduct as police investigated the scene.
