Police investigating video of unprovoked attacks on multiple people in Albany, NY

Police in Albany, New York, have opened an investigation into footage circulating online showing a suspect assaulting multiple people in unprovoked attacks, according to officials. The suspect has not been publicly identified.

The footage includes several clips joined together showing attacks on at least seven people in separate encounters, with a cameraman following the suspect in one of the clips. The dates and exact locations of the attacks were not immediately known.

In one clip, a man appears to have been knocked unconscious, but the suspect continues kicking him in the head as he lies on the ground. The extent of the victims’ injuries was not immediately known.

In a final clip, the suspect shouts: “The white man f*cked up everything. Every great person, every great celebrity that we had. They killed all of them. They destroyed everything great that this country created.”

The Albany Police Department said in a statement on Sunday that it was “deeply troubled” by the videos. Its statement did not include identifying details about the suspect or establish a motive for the attacks.

“At this time, no police reports have been made, as victims have not come forth or been identified,” the department said. “However, the department has opened an investigation and is actively seeking assistance in identifying victims.”
