Seven people, including juveniles, were injured in an overnight shooting near a neighborhood block party in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, according to authorities. All seven victims were reported in stable condition.
Police were called at 10:48 p.m. Saturday to the 2600 block of 22nd Street, where they found a large crowd and multiple gunshot victims, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department. Officers began providing medical aid before firefighters and paramedics arrived.
The shooting happened in an area where a neighborhood block party had been held earlier in the day. The event had a city permit allowing it to continue until 10 p.m., less than an hour before the shooting.
Three victims were initially reported to have serious injuries, but all seven were later listed as stable, according to WVTM.
Police have interviewed several people who were at the scene and are working to identify additional witnesses. Authorities have not released information about possible suspects, a motive or whether the shooting was connected to the block party.
