5 victims, suspect identified in Oregon murder-suicide
The five people found dead at a rural property outside Forest Grove, Oregon, have been identified, according to authorities. The suspect, who lived at the property with one of the victims, was found dead in Washington state in an apparent suicide.
The bodies were discovered Saturday at a property on Northwest Otis Lane in unincorporated Washington County, outside Forest Grove, after firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire at about 5:27 a.m.
The victims were identified as Mary Elizabeth Kimsey, 85, of Portland; her daughter, Rowan Karla Kimsey, 60, of Forest Grove; and Rowan’s daughter, Stella Jade Kimsey, 26, of Forest Grove, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities also identified Linsey Mae Haraldsen, 26, of Portland, as Stella’s best friend, and Alvin Raymond Chu, 27, of Portland, as Linsey’s partner.
Detectives identified Stella’s boyfriend, Benjamin Charles Parker, 36, as the suspect. Parker lived at the property with Stella, while Rowan owned and lived there.
Following the murders, investigators believed Parker traveled to Enumclaw, Washington, where police found his vehicle and located him dead inside. Authorities believe he died by suicide.
Two cats and two dogs were also found dead at the property. Another cat was euthanized because of the extent of its injuries, while livestock at the property has been rehomed.
Officials have not released details about a possible motive.
