President Trump said Iran’s latest written response to U.S. demands is “totally unacceptable” after Iranian officials reportedly tied any agreement to sanctions relief, oil exports, frozen assets and a ceasefire in Lebanon.

“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives,’” Trump said in a social media post on Sunday. “I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”

The response was sent through a Pakistani mediator, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency. The report said Tehran is asking for an end to the blockade, freedom to export oil, the lifting of U.S. sanctions and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

Iran is also seeking the removal of OFAC restrictions related to Iranian oil sales and is insisting on Iranian management of the Strait of Hormuz, according to the report.

The Iranian response includes a clause related to a ceasefire in Lebanon, which the sources described as one of Tehran’s red lines in the talks. Iran has linked some of the proposed understandings to guarantees tied to ending the escalation in Lebanon.

The report said any agreement with Washington would have to include an immediate end to the war once the agreement is announced, followed by 30 days of negotiations after the fighting stops to discuss further details.

Trump had earlier accused Iran of “playing games” with the United States for decades, saying Tehran had relied on delays in its dealings with Washington.

“For 47 years the Iranians have been ‘tapping’ us along, keeping us waiting,” Trump said, while also attacking former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden over their handling of Iran.

Trump also claimed Iran had killed Americans with roadside bombs, suppressed protests and “recently” killed 42,000 unarmed protesters. “They will be laughing no longer!” Trump said.
