Trump says Iran will be ‘blown up’ if anything happens to him
U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran’s leadership that the country would be “wiped off the face of this earth” if anything happened to him, after an apparent assassination threat aired on Iranian state television.
Speaking in an interview aired Tuesday night with Katie Pavlich on NewsNation, Trump was asked about reports that protesters were being burned alive in Iran and that an assassination threat against him had been issued over the weekend.
“Well, they shouldn’t be doing it, but I have left notification,” Trump said. “Anything ever happens, the whole country is going to get blown up.”
Trump added that he gave “very firm instructions,” followed again by, “Anything happens, they are going to wipe them off the face of this earth.”
Iranian state television reportedly aired footage focusing on a poster held by a pro-regime supporter. The poster showed an image of Trump from the Butler, Pennsylvania rally during the 2024 assassination attempt, overlaid with a sniper scope and the caption, “This time, it won’t miss.”
