MN prosecutor seeks public video of ICE shooting; Patel claims $20K informant payment in Trump probe

Media Miss by the right: Minnesota prosecutor asks public to share Renee Good shooting evidence
A Minnesota prosecutor has asked members of the public to send in videos they may have of last week’s deadly Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer-involved shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis.
The request comes as the FBI has blocked state law enforcement from participating in the investigation.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and Minnesota Attorney General’s Office said the videos are needed to preserve evidence and determine whether the ICE officer involved could face charges under Minnesota law. Officials say the officer is not entitled to legal immunity under state law.
“We do have jurisdiction to make this decision with what happened in this case,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “It does not matter that it was a federal law enforcement agent.”
Media Miss by the left: Patel says informant was paid $20,000 in Jack Smith’s Trump probe
FBI Director Kash Patel says former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team paid a source $20,000 for information during the investigation into Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
Newly released records do not identify who was paid or what information they provided, but Patel raised the disclosure as evidence of questionable practices in the probe.
According to a report from conservative outlet Just the News, approval for the payment allegedly happened in 2023 and involved senior officials within Smith’s office.
Trump responded in a post on Truth Social writing, “Deranged Jack Smith should be sitting in prison for all that he has done to disgrace our Country!”
