Texas Amber Alert: Maryuri Gomez missing from Yoakum County
A Texas Amber Alert has been issued for 15-year-old Maryuri Gomez after she was reported missing from Plains in Yoakum County, local officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.
Maryuri was last seen at 8 a.m. on Sunday in the 300 block of 13th Street in Plains, southwest of Lubbock, according to Tuesday’s amber alert. Details about the circumstances of her disappearance were not immediately released.
Investigators believe Maryuri is with 41-year-old Juan Garcia, but there was no word on the nature of their relationship, if any. He’s believed to have taken her in a black 2010 Ford F-150 with Texas license plate number WGV9997.
Maryuri Yolani Gomez Marquez is described as a 15-year-old Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 125 pounds, according to the amber alert.
Juan Orlando Garcia Sarmiento is described as a 41-year-old Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 188 pounds.
Anyone who sees Maryuri, Garcia or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Texas Department of Public Safety at 806-740-8770 if you have any other information that could help investigators.
