Media Miss by the right: Rutgers University antifa expert tries to flee US for Spain following death threats
A Rutgers University professor who is an expert on anti-fascist groups and terrorism, has left the U.S. for Spain after receiving numerous death threats.
Mark Bray said those threats started when the Rutgers chapter of Turning Point USA launched an online petition demanding his removal from the school. The organization falsely claimed Bray was “antifa-aligned.”
At least one of those threats indicated that a would-be shooter planned to assassinate him during class with his students present in the room. That forced the professor to switch his classes from in-person to online to protect his students.
The Rutgers chapter of Turning Point USA now says it does not support the harassment or “doxxing” — the publishing of sensitive information, including home and family addresses, for the purposes of harassing, threatening or committing violence against someone or their family — of Bray or anyone else.
Media Miss by the left: ACLU sues Trump admin over warrantless arrests without cause
The Colorado chapter of the ACLU is suing the Trump administration, saying warrantless arrests made without probable cause by ICE officers are illegal and unconstitutional.
The class action lawsuit names several senior administration officials as defendants, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons.
A Homeland Security official told The Hill that ICE “complies with all lawful court orders and is addressing this matter with the court.”
